After undergoing a 276 million dollar transformation and being closed for just over a year, the Art Gallery is opening it doors once again to a spectacular transformed building housing over 73,000 pieces of art, displaying over 4000 pieces. The spectacular building has been designed by world renowned architect Frank Gehry and is a piece of art itself. The expansion of the Art Gallery of Ontario increased the art-viewing space by 47% representing 97,000 square feet. The Art Gallery of Ontario also houses a restaurant, cafe and retail store.
